Retiring in the Philippines

Do you have a 2000 dollar pension? - if you do you can live like a king in the philippines.

consider this:

rent a house in a decent neigborhood - 250 dollars/ month
maid - 80 dollars a month ( she will cook and do the laundry too )
groceries - 100 dollars a month
haircut - 3 dollars
massage - 5 dollars an hour
dental work - laughably cheap- 68 percent cheaper than the USA
groceries - ( if you eat out everyday an average meal will cost you 5 dollars thats 15 dollars a day or 450 dollars a month)
transportation - a taxi's charge .35 cents per kilometer /you can take a jeep for .10 cents and it will take you for more than 5 kilometers
electricity - i have airconditoning running almost 24 hours a day - it costs me 150 dollars a month

all in all it costs me about 1350 dollars a month for basic stuff - i have the rest to blow on whatever i damn well want - and the rest goes a long long long way - ( a beer in the local bar will set you back .80 cents)
